At least the weather had the decency to be nice for Babs,Jon & Harry's last day here.
They went down to The stones of Stennes and Barnhouse neolithic village then Jon went to The ring of Brodgar as he missed it yesterday because he had to stay with Harry who had fallen to sleep. He of course got all the excitment that we missed yesterday as Neil Oliver was there doing interviews for a new TV programme on archeology which I thing is due to be shown on BBC2 in autumn.
It was a bit of a none day at home, just unpacking some boxes out of the shed and putting the stuff into a cupboard. At least I got a bit more room in the shed.
The high spot was getting a phone call from Dave Wakefield to say that there was a trip to Swona tomorrow to ring Fulmar chicks. It was short notice but was I interested?
Silly question. Swona is an uninhabited island and very difficult to get to so there are not many chances to get there.
That will be Swona and Eynhallow both within about 2 weeks. Not bad for a beginner and I am going to Graemsay on wednesday.
Oh by the way, I said yes.
